Re: Visit Portobello (and let your dog shit everywhere)
I think the image is great however when I saw it I wondered if it was a comment on the state of the Prom, a reminder to irresponsible dog-owners (!) or a plea not to allow dog-fouling. Think there needs to be a big red cross put through the steaming pile - just to make things clear.......

What a lovely post Colin. Mr Harris is indeed a credit to our community and I would certainly be one of those who would say "what a nice man". He's got my vote.

Re: New Portobello High School - PPAG win legal appeal
From today's letter page in EEN: Powerful case for new school site The proposal to provide a new Portobello High School has entered another phase following the emphatic ruling that the council acted ultra vires in appropriating Portobello Park. That is, it is not lawful to build on Portobello Park. ...

The conclusions drawn by the report were not backed up statistically. As Sheila Gilmore herself wrote "[The Report] offers a quantitative outcome from what was intended to be, and indeed was a qualitative process.

Just received this from Kezia Dugdale: This is just a further note to say that we have now withdrawn the report from the Council and deleted it from our respective websites. Re: New Portobello High School - PPAG Judicial Review
The vociferous campaign taking place in Portobello to drop the appeal has had the opposite effect to that intended and has only stiffened resolve to follow the process to its conclusion in those who oppose losing this large area of Portobello’s parks. Looks like they have every intention of taking ...
